Girdwood Center for Visual Arts is celebrating 35 years as a thriving artist co-op with a birthday party and sale of work by current and past members. I have donated Russian Sugar Bowl (6 x 8, oil on linen panel, detail at left) to this fundraiser. See all the fine selections at the party: Saturday, October 7, 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
Tent City Press, the new printmaking co-op, opens officially on September 1, 2017, with a First Friday show and printing demonstrations. Several of my prints will be on display and available for purchase. I will also print one of my intaglio plates during the event. Come see the show and watch the process first hand. 8 – 11 PM, 349 Ship Creek Ave, Anchorage.
Artists David Pettibone and Karl Koett are the organizers of this once a month event, open to all. The next session is on Monday, August 14, 5 – 8 PM. International Gallery of Contemporary Art, (in Anchorage, on D St between 4th and 5th) $15, current UAA students $5. Bring your own supplies. A few easels are available, but if you have a portable easel, you might like to bring it along.
Join me for the opening on First Friday, August 4, 2017, 5 – 7 PM, in the cafe at Kobuk Coffee Company, on Town Square Park, corner of 5th and E, Anchorage, AK.
Collectors take note: all works will be priced to sell!
The show includes new work, older work, and several that have never been displayed. At left, a detail from my painting Buddha with Pomegranate, available for the first time on Friday.
