Curators and printmakers Joe Carr, Karinna Gomez, and Jonathan S Green have assembled fantastic show of prints by 25 Alaskan printermakers from 9 Alaskan communities. You will be delighted at the variety of fine printmaking happening in Alaska! Opening at International Gallery of Contemporary Art on Friday, January 5, from 5 – 8 PM. I am grateful to have been invited to participate.
Please join me at the Arc Gallery in the University of Alaska Consortium Library, Friday, November 16, 4:30 – 7PM. My first all-prints solo show features 15 works, 13 of which have never been shown in a public space. Many were completed in the last few months. The show’s title, Wily Women and Other Survivors, has everything to do with how we are all living in interesting times. I would be thrilled to see you there!
The International Gallery of Contemporary Art annual 100 x 100 show opens of Friday, 11/2/18, 5- 8 PM, and continues through November. The show features work priced at $100 or less by a variety of artists, so there will be plenty of good work for sale. This is an important fundraiser for IGCA. Please consider purchasing a piece by a member artist.
Intercurrents: The Alaska Treaty of Cession, a show curated by Patricia Shelton, which explores diverse points of view about the Alaska Purchase, first appeared in Anchorage last autumn. Now it has travelled to Bunnell Street Arts Center in Homer, opening September 7, 2018, 5 – 7 PM, and available through September. If you didn’t see it in Anchorage, or even if you did, it is definitely worth a visit in Homer!
